Gala Serious Game Mechanics Workshops

The Serious Game Mechanics workshops constitute the main activity of the research on Serious Game Mechanics (SGMs) for the fourth and final year of the GALA EC project. A series of two to three workshop are to be carried out at different venues in order to disseminate, collect and validate currently developing knowledge in the area of SGMs. This work is lead by HWU in collaboration with BiBA, SGI, UNIGE, OUNL, COVUNI, MAN and CNR.

Dr. Sylvester Arnab is a Senior Researcher at the Serious Games Institute (SGI) and the Disruptive Media Learning Lab (DMLL), UK. He holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Warwick, UK and his research interest is in the use of interactive and games technology in various domains. He is currently coordinating the R&D work package for the €5.65m Games and Learning Alliance (GALA – galanoe.eu)- a network of 31 partners and participating in the EU Funded PEGASO integrated project. He has negotiated and/or project managed various development projects, such as the development of the £70K PR:EPARe game. Sylvester is a member of the steering group for of the Serious Games Society (seriousgamessociety.org) , Health 2.0 Birmingham (part of the Health 2.0 initiative) and Games for Health UK (SGI being the satellite hub for Games for Health.
